Bernhard Langer shot lower than his age to grab triumph at the season-finishing Charles Schwab Cup Title and broaden his record of coming out on top for a championship consistently on the PGA Visit Champions' circuit to 18 years.
The 67-year-old holed a 30-foot birdie putt on the last opening to card a five-under-standard 66 and seal a one-stroke triumph on 18 under over reigning champ Steven Alker and Richard Green.
It is the 47th title Langer has won on the over-50s circuit and the first since tearing his Achilles ligament in mid-2024.
"It's mind-boggling," said Langer, who likewise had rounds of 69, 64 and 67 at the Phoenix Nation Club in Arizona.
"To win this large competition after what I've experienced and to make 18 years straight over here, it's very astonishing. I'm exceptionally thankful, extremely honored."
Langer, a double cross Experts champ, had a five-shot lead heading into the back nine however consecutive intruders on the tenth and eleventh saw his lead lessen.
